As the weather starts to get warmer, and the sun spends more hours in the sky we can’t help but get excited to welcome visitors near and far to our quaint, yet vibrant community.
Although Wall, South Dakota is often considered the gateway to South Dakota’s finest attractions, Wall is a destination of its own. Best known for the iconic Wall Drug, attracting millions of visitors each year, Wall is a welcoming community overflowing with small-town charm.
Whether you are making a quick stop through Wall on your way west, or making us your primary destination we can’t wait to share our little piece of paradise with you.
Dining
Many weary travelers have passed through Wall since its founding in 1907, and the friendly folks in our town are proud to serve cold drinks and delicious food to all who stop in our area. If you’re in a hurry Wall has a variety of fast food options to refuel you for the journey ahead including: Dairy Queen, Subway, 9 Juan Juan, and Wall Stompin’ Grounds Coffee House. Home to the largest privately owned art collection in the country, The Wall Drug Café is known far and wide for their homemade donuts and 5 cent coffee. For those looking for something a little fancier, check out the Red Rock Restaurant & Lounge. This steakhouse features patio dining, an extensive beer and wine list, as well as pool, darts, and more! At the 3 Amigos Cantina, it’s always happy hour with their cold margaritas and extensive Mexican cuisine. For a delicious meal the whole family will love, head to the Badlands Saloon and Grille. This family-owned business offers familiar family recipes along with unique, one-of-a-kind creations. Wall’s Main Street is full of delicious dining options so come grab a bite after spending the day exploring the Badlands.

Lodging
There is nothing better than laying your head on a soft pillow after a long day of traveling. The friendly folks in Wall, SD pride ourselves on offering comfortable lodging options that will feel like your home away from home! From cabins, camping, hotel rooms, and bed & breakfasts, Wall, South Dakota offers lodging options as diverse as the visitors who stay here. The Circle View Guest Ranch is located 30 miles south of Wall in Interior, SD but it is one of the best views in the Badlands. Many of the campgrounds located in and around Wall have swimming pools and playgrounds, so you can unwind while keeping the little ones entertained. For those looking for a more traditional lodging experience, Wall has many well-maintained hotels within walking distance of Wall Drug. Despite the small size of our town, we are more than prepared to welcome thousands of visitors and give them a vacation like they’ve never imagined.

Sightseeing
Besides its vibrant community full of friendly folk, Wall, South Dakota also features some of the most unique land formations in North America. Badlands National Park is 244,000 acres of protected area, which will provide a stunning background for any outdoor adventures. There are multiple day hikes located close to Wall. Stop by the Ben Reifel Visitor Center to speak with the rangers about the current status of trails and to learn what trails they recommend. Due to its secluded location and small population, Wall, South Dakota is also one of the best places to star gaze since we receive little to no light pollution. Badlands National Park has a Night Sky Program every weekend in the summer with rangers available to point out various constellations and planets.

Attractions
Not only is Wall surrounded by scenic outdoor adventure, the city itself has amazing attractions the whole family will love. Spend the day at the Wall Community Park and Pool, the park features a playground, picnic shelters, as well as basketball hoops and skateboard ramps. The pool is open June through August, is free to all visitors, and is the perfect play to enjoy some fun in the sun. To learn more about the area check out the National Grasslands Visitor Center to see wildlife displays, learn about the grassland ecosystems, or take part in one of the various ranger-led programs offered! For those history buffs, the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site is a must see! Located east of Wall, SD, this site was once a secret facility where the Air Force controlled and maintained ten nuclear missiles.
